Almac Group’s new Dundalk facility will be ready “by the middle of this year”

Pharmaceutical company The Almac Group’s new facility will be ready sometime this summer.

That’s according to Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O’Connor.

Earlier this week Dublin Fingal-based TD Alan Farrell queried the status of the Craigavon-based firm with the Minister.

The Almac Group announced in January that they were moving to the IDA Business Park in Dundalk as part of a multi-million euro investment in the wake of Brexit.

Around 100 jobs are set to be created by the move with Minister Mitchell O’Connor replying to Deputy Farrell that she expected their new facility to be “operationally ready by the middle of this year.”

She said: “I understand that the company in question has agreed a lease on an existing building in the IDA Business Park in Dundalk. It is anticipated, once works are completed to the building and the company completes other preparatory requirements, that the facility will be operationally ready by the middle of this year.”
