Bids are currently being sought for the development and operation of six social housing sites around the country, including one in Co Louth.
The National Development Finance Agency, an arm of the National Treasury Management Agency who are responsible for public-private partnership (PPP) projects, issued the notice on Tuesday with plans for up to 560 houses across six sites in Louth, Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow.
The local houses are to be built at Ravel, a townland in Dunleer, on land owned by Louth County Council.
Once the builds are complete it should go some way to easing the county’s waiting list for social housing.
This is the first PPP bundle in the Government’s social housing programme announced as part of Budget 2015.
