Diesel sludge dumped in north Louth

A further discovery of dumped diesel sludge was made in North Louth yesterday.

4,000 litres of the toxic waste were discovered at the car park of Faughart Graveyard yesterday afternoon, while a further 3,000 litres was also found at the ESB substation at Ballykelly, just off the Dundalk to Carrickmacross Road.

Louth County Council immediately started the clean-up operation, which already this year has cost taxpayers thousands of euro.
