Dundalk man wins €66,000 on Winning Streak
Dundalk man Gerry Larkin had reason to celebrate at the weekend after scooping €66,000 on Winning Streak.
Gerry, who was supported by his children Padraig, Mark and Bronagh in the audience as well as a wider circle of family and friends, said he would be giving some of his winnings to his grandchildren.
The Barrack Street man got off to a good start on the night by winning €22,000 on the Trap Door section of the show. He then contributed as the group of five players won €100,000 collectively on the Higher/Lower game, which netted them €20,000 each.
Gerry’s night was to get even better when he was selected to ‘Spin the Wheel’ where he won an additional €24,000 to bring his night’s earnings to €66,000.
Gerry was playing on behalf of his wife Marie, who suffers from dementia, and praised staff at The Birches and St Oliver’s for their support. While Marie couldn’t be there on the night, Gerry brought a picture of him and her onto the show during his discussion segment with co-host Sinead Kennedy.
