Dundalk’s Towell leads poll to be voted Joe.ie Footballer of the Year

Dundalk midfielder Richie Towell is leading a poll to be voted the Joe.ie Footballer of the Year at the Joe.ie Men of the Year Awards next month.

The 29-goal midfielder has been nominated for the award, sponsored by Nivea for Men, alongside Irish internationals Jonathan Walters, Wes Hoolahan, Seamus Coleman and Robbie Keane.

To date Towell has commanded more than a third of the votes, with Walters second with just under 25%.

Meanwhile, local rugby star Rob Kearney is also nominated for the Rugby Player of the Year. The Willville man currently trails the voting to Paul O’Connell, Iain Henderson, Robbie Henshaw and Sean O’Brien.

Voting will close in early December. You can vote for Towell and Kearney and see the other categories here.
