Fire Service deal with blaze at Dundalk Port

A large fire broke out at Dundalk Port early on Saturday morning.

It happened at the coal depot at the port but was brought under control by Dundalk Fire Service by 8am, with no major damage caused.

Meanwhile, the local fire service also had to rescue a woman from a house that was on fire in the Fatima estate on Friday night. The incident occurred shortly before 11pm with the fire brought quickly under control.

A female motorist also had to be freed from her car by the fire service on Friday night after it had crashed through road barriers on the Dundalk-Castleblayney Road.
