Five from Louth County Council travelling to New York for St Patrick’s Day at a cost of €8,000
Five representatives from Louth County Council are travelling to New York for St Patrick’s Day.
In total 60 councillors from around the country are travelling abroad for the national holiday at a cost of more than €106,000.
Most (48) are going to New York, while the remainder are going to either other US destinations (5), London (4) or France (3).
All five members of Louth County Council travelling are going to the Big Apple, at a cost of €5,000.
According to The Irish Times, all bar four counties are sending representatives abroad for St Patrick’s Day. They are Dublin, Galway, Waterford and Westmeath.
