Just one farmer in Louth approved for payment under Department of Agriculture scheme
Just one farmer from Co Louth had a payment claim approved by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine under the TAMS II scheme before it closed earlier this month.
A total of 10,996 applications were received under the scheme with over €8.6 million paid out to the 708 applicants who were approved under the scheme.
Figures from the Department of Agriculture showed that 116 had applied for the scheme but just one had been approved for payment.
This was the lowest figure in the county, with Dublin next on two payments. Cork and Tipperary received the most approvals with 121 each.
TAMS II aims to provide farmers with grant aid to improve and/or build a specific range of farm buildings or purchase equipment that may benefit their farm businesses.
