Local schools to feature in 1916 themed show in An Táin Arts Centre

Audiences in Dundalk are in for a special treat as students from St Vincent’s Secondary School and St Joseph’s National School join the performers of the critically acclaimed show Visionaries and their Words on stage at An Táin Arts Centre on Friday 31st March as the show continues its successful Irish tour.

The shows reveals the artistic brilliance and vision in the writings of four of the Leaders of the Easter Rising; Patrick Pearse, James Connolly, Eamonn Ceannt and Joseph Plunkett. Renowned traditional composer Lorcán Mac Mathúna draws from their poetry to reflect the musical influence that touched on their lives, and reveals the extraordinary musical artists behind the revolutionary icons.

An Táin Arts Centre’s Managing Director Paul Hayes says: “This show is a mix of spoken word and music, I am really looking forward it to seeing the local schools get involved in this production, it promises to magical night.”
