M1 toll operators paid €1 million to Government last year.
The operators of the toll plaza on the M1 motorway made a payment of around €1 million to the Government last year.
The figures from the Department of Transport revealed the payment by the M1 Dundalk Western Bypass as part of €3.5 received overall from other toll operations.
The payments were as a result of greater than expected traffic along the tolled route.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland was also paid a further €1.6 million last year under a revenue sharing contract with the operators of three motorway service station areas, one of which is located along the M1 at Castlebellingham. The other two are at Lusk in North Dublin and Enfield in Co Kildare.
