Maxi nominated for League of Ireland Character of the Year

Well known Dundalk FC supporter Mark ‘Maxi’ Kavanagh is appealing for votes after being nominated for LeagueofIreland.ie’s League of Ireland Character of the Year award.

The local taxi driver has been an avid Lilywhites supporter for years but shot to fame earlier in the year for his videos in his cab. As well as giving David Keenan a platform for his hit track ‘El Paso’ to go viral, Maxi later launched his own website which regularly features articles on Stephen Kenny’s side.

Commenting on the award, Mark said: “This is an All-Ireland award and it would be an honour and privilage to win this on behalf of the town.”

Amongst those also nominated include Bohemians’ Keith Buckley, Danny North of Shamrock Rovers, Waterford Utd’s Robert Birdsall, Pajo Flynn from Longford, the Dublin Derby Facts Twitter account and Rebel Radio presenters Kevin Galvin and David Kent.
