More than two thirds of students at Dundalk IT receive grants
More than two thirds of students at Dundalk Institute of Technology are in receipt of grants to support their education.
A study in today’s Irish Times show that 63.6% of students in the Dublin Road institute received the financial support.
This is the ninth highest figure in the country after Letterkenny IT (74.4%), Athlone IT (72.5%), IT Carlow (70.9%), IT Sligo (69.1%), Limerick IT (68.2%), Galway-Mayo IT (65.9%), IT Blanchardstown (65.6%) and Waterford IT (64.7%).
Eligibility for a grant is based on an assessment of the income of students or their parents. Household income eligibility thresholds range from about €40,000 upwards a year, depending on factors such as the number of dependent children.
Students who receive a grant have their €3,000 registration charge fully met by Susi (Student Universial Support Ireland).
