New Applegreen opens on the Newry Road

The new Applegreen service station on the Newry Road opened today.

The revamped facility replaces the former Texaco Filling Station run by the Bishop family, who will continue to operate the Applegreen facility.

Work began on the new filling station in April with the old shop demolished and the underground fuel tanks replaced.

The new facility offers a new 100sqm convenience store, a Bakewell Café, Subway store, internal seating area, toilets, Wi-Fi, an ATM and three pump islands selling both unleaded petrol and diesel.

There is also a new car wash facility, 14 car parking spaces on site and an air/water services area.

Bishop’s Texaco filling station is 30 years in business this year having been established by Eamon Bishop in 1986. He took it over from Smith’s, with his family members Paddy and Eamon becoming involved in more recent times.
