Secondary students invited to attend CODE documentary in Dundalk on Wednesday
Secondary school students are being invited to attend the showcasing of the CODE documentary in the IMC Cinema at Carroll Village in Dundalk this Wednesday.
CODE documentary examines the reasons why more girls and people of colour are not seeking opportunities in computer science and explores how cultural mindsets, stereotypes, educational hurdles, and sexism all play roles in this national crisis.
Expert voices from the worlds of tech, psychology, science, and education are intercut with inspiring stories of women who are engaged in the fight to challenge complacency in the tech industry and have their voices heard.
CODE aims to inspire change in mindsets, in the educational system, in startup culture and in the way women see themselves in the field of coding.
Directly after the screening, students will have a chance to meet the tech expert panel with speakers from Vodafone, Prometric, and Intel who will discuss the issues raised in the film and their career trajectories.
The free event takes place from 10.45am to 1pm. Anyone interested in attending is asked to register here.
