RehabCare Resource Centre to host WOW show this Thursday


The RehabCare Resource Centre in Carroll Village will host The WOW (Worn Our Way) Show this Thursday night at 8pm.

A night of creativity and style, the event will feature fashions from local stores including Elmay Boutique, Tony McDonnell’s, Horseware, Outdoor Exchange, Toolfix and more with contributions from Dundalk IT and Coláiste Rís students.

There will also be hair models from the likes of The Hair Shop, Stand Out Style, Cutting Crew, Fusion, Utopia, Blade FX, Signature Hair and Grafters.

Entertainment on the night will be by Dynamix.

Tickets, priced €10, are available from the Rehabcare Resource Centre in Carroll Village or by calling 042 9328766. Proceeds will be in aid of Women’s Aid Dundalk and the North Louth Hospice.

Elmay Professional Styling Boutique recently celebrated its first anniversary in their store at 30 Clanbrassil Street in style.

The store hosted a Fabulously Fashionable Event which consisted of fashion shows in-store throughout the day where they showcased Elmay’s exciting range of labels including Libra, Darcy, Personal Choice and Naya by Michael H, Aria, Avalon, Ella Boo, Gardeur, Comma, S Oliver, Street One, Via Veneto among many more.

The store caters for a wide variety of sizes from 10-24 and there is something for every occasion from smart/casual to more occasional/wedding wear –  all of which are exclusive to Elmay Boutique in Dundalk.

Louth Ladies fashion show fundraiser this Saturday


The Louth Ladies GAA team will host a fundraising fashion show this Saturday night at 8.30pm in Oriel Active at Oriel Park.

Amongst the shops showcasing their products in the fashion show are Wallis, Quiz, Elverys, Elmay Boutique, Ruby Nu, Neola, Rapport, Beau Chic, New Look, Bella Me Dress House and Tony McDonnell Menswear.

Many of the county footballers will be modelling the attire on the night with Mr Ireland, Karl Bowe, the guest of honour to model the menswear.

MC on the night is LMFM’s Gerry Kelly, with tickets still available priced €10 from any member of the County Board, any ladies player, Smyth’s Life Pharmcy in Seatown or on the door on the night.

Proceeds will go to all the ladies teams and will help the seniors pay for the expense of their trip to face Scotland in this year’s Championship.

St Peter’s AC to host 50 shades of spring fashion show in aid of athlete James Meenan


St Peter’s Athletic Club in Dromiskin are hosting a 50 shades of spring fashion show in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Thursday March 5th to raise funds for young athlete James Meenan, who will carry the Irish flag in the Special Olympics in Los Angeles this summer.

The event will also seek to raise funds for the club’s new track.

On the night there will be exhibitors from Ruby Nu in Park Street and Elmay and Bella Me Dress House in Clanbrassil Street.

Tickets, priced €10, are available from any of the competing shops or from The Gift and Art Gallery. Alternatively you can pay at the door on the night.

Elmay Boutique to host charity fashion show in Dundalk this Sunday in aid of cancer


Cara Cancer Support and Elmay Professional Styling Boutique in Clanbrassil Street are coming together this Sunday to host a fundraising fashion show.

The fashion show will take place instore at Elmay Boutique, 30 Clanbrassil Street on Sunday from 3-6pm. Admission is free and all donations will go directly to the Cara Cancer Support Centre, a voluntary charity that is funded by the generosity of the public.

Laura Corry, proprietor of Elmay Boutique, told Talk of the Town she is honoured to be involved in this event for a charity that is so close to her heart and she will be donating a percentage of profits of all sales on the day to Cara Cancer Support.

Elmay Boutique is home to the best of Irish and European labels such as Libra, Avalon, Darcy, Ella Boo, Closet, Comma and Le Vertige among many more. It caters for women of all ages with a wide range of sizes starting from a size 8 with also a dedicated section on the first floor for size 18 plus.

Cara Cancer Support provides a supportive environment for people living with cancer and the centre is a place where patients and family members can come to find solace, they offer a range of holistic therapies, pamper days, a number of workshops for men and women along with welfare information and counselling to name just a few of their services.

All are welcome to come along on Sunday and this is your chance to help the people of Dundalk and the surrounding areas to find much needed support on an illness that has touched so many families.

New boutique to open on Clanbrassil Street in Dundalk next week


Clanbrassil Street is set for a welcome boost as a new styling boutique is set to open its doors on Friday May 2nd.

The person responsible for the new venture, which will be called Elmay Professional Styling Boutique, is Dundalk woman Laura (Hughes) Corry – the former manager of Sally West, which closed its doors recently.

Laura has over 12 years experience in the fashion industry and she comes from a strong family background steeped in fashion history from designers to manufacturers and wholesalers to retailers.

Laura has furthered her styling knowledge by receiving professional training from top celebrity stylist Nicky Hambleton Jones who is best known for presenting Channel 4’s hit show 10 Years Younger.

Elmay Professional Styling Boutique will combine both styling expertise with clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories to give each customer an individual look.

Elmay Boutique will cater for a wide variety of ladies from mid-20s to mid-70s and above, and with a selection of sizes from 8-24 there will surely be something to satisfy all women’s needs.

The shop will be located at 30 Clanbrassil Street – the former Madame Kay’s – and will have well-known brands from the four corners of the globe as well as celebrating the best of Irish fashion hosting labels such as, most recently seen on Ireland AM, as well as Avalon, Via Veneto, Roisin McCarthy knitwear and Aria – a company which featured in Elle magazine’s top 10 brands of last year.
