Towell scoops three awards as Dundalk unveil new jersey for 2014
Richie Towell was the big winner at last night’s Dundalk FC Player of the Year awards in the Lilywhite Lounge having scooped three of the major prizes.
The former Celtic ace was named Player of the Year, Away Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year in what was a memorable night for the midfielder.
Meanwhile, goal of the year went to Kurtis Byrne for his strike from the halfway line in the 5-1 win away to Shelbourne in the FAI Cup in September.
Meanwhile, Andy Boyle was voted as the Players’ Player of the Year with Glenda Shields collecting the Supporter of the Year award, which has been named the Marty Shields Perpetual Trophy in honour of our father Marty, who passed away recently.
Meanwhile, Pat Hoban collected the Malone Cup for top scorer this season.
