3,220 young people in Louth not registered to vote

A total of 3,220 young people in Louth were not registered to vote as of late last week.

That’s according to figures from the National Youth Council of Ireland, based on CSO estimates.

The figures are based on the number of those aged 25 and under who have not registered to vote.

In recent weeks there has been a strong push to encourage people to register to vote ahead of the forthcoming abortion referendum on May 25th.

Those interested in voting can still register to vote before 5pm today. Further details are available at www.checktheregister.ie
