Man killed in Dundalk after being knocked down by two cars on old Newry Road

A man in his late 20s has died after being knocked down and killed in Dundalk in the early hours of this morning.

The incident occurred at 3.15am close to the junction with the Racecourse Road on the Old Newry Road.

According to Gardaí the man was struck by two cars as he crossed the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the cars were uninjured.

The road remains closed this morning from the Lisdoo to Racecourse Road junction to facilitate an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
