The Department of Education has confirmed that St Nicholas National School in Dundalk has been approved for additional accommodation.

News of the funding was revealed by local Fine Gael TD Fergus O’Dowd, who said it would be a huge boost for the Nicholas Street school.

He said: “This will provide two new 80sqm classrooms and a WC for assisted users. It will also allow for the removal of prefabs.

“This is great news for the school and everyone involved,” he said.
