Commenting on the race win Green said he was “delighted to have taken part in the first ever Legends of Louth run and looks forward to defending his crown across the superb route next year.”

Run Chairman Paul Kelly commented: “We are delighted with the superb turnout from running clubs across Ireland, to have near 400 runners take part in our first year exceeds all expectations, we are already planning 2019 which promises to be bigger and better, a must run date in any athlete’s diary.”

All proceeds from the event go towards the redevelopment of Louth Village Community Centre.
