Applications being accepted for 2017 Louth Rose

Applications are still being accepted for women interested in becoming this year’s Louth Rose.

The selection event to determine the new Louth Rose takes place in the Four Seasons Hotel in Carlingford this Sunday.

This year’s Rose of Tralee International Festival will take place from August 16th to 22nd with the 2017 Louth Rose set to take on the challenge of becoming the first ever winner of the competition from the Wee County.

The new Rose, once selected, will succeed Carlingford woman Megan Ferguson (pictured above) who encouraged anyone thinking of applying to get involved after insisting that her year as the Louth Rose was one of the best of her life.

She said: “Where do I start, what a year from Cooley to Tralee, Germany, Chicago, New York, Chernobyl.

“We are still taking applications for the Louth Rose. We all know a girl that would make an amazing rose, she just needs encouragement.”
