Average rent in Louth now almost €800 as it rises at second fastest rate in the country
The average rent for a property in Co Louth now stands at €793 having risen by 13.3% in the last year.
That’s according to the latest figures from property website Daft.ie in their Q3 2015 rental report, released this morning.
The year-on-year increase in rental costs in Louth is the second highest in the country after Meath (14.5%) and with no sign of it abating, it is expected that the average rent will be over the €800 mark by the end of the year. Figures for this quarter were 4.3% ahead of Q2 – a figure only topped by Limerick City (6.1%), Galway City (6.0%) and Meath (4.4%).
The biggest increase has been in relation to one bed apartments and two bed houses, which are up 14.2% to €542 and €615 respectively. A three bed house is up 9.4% to an average of €1,008, a four bed house is up 9.3% to an average of 9.3% while a five bed house has risen 7.6% year-on-year to an average price of €1,157 a month in rent.
