Local pub The Bartender is set to be auctioned off next month.

The Park Street pub will go under the hammer at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Wednesday November 15th at 3pm.

The sale is being conducted by Nigel Kelly Town and Country Auctioneer on behalf of the Quigley family.

The Bartender is run by Joe and Sheila Connolly, who will be unaffected by the sale.

They have run the pub, known for its wide range of beers, since taking over from from Mark Mulholland more than 11 years ago when the premises was formerly known as The Beerkeeper. In previous years the pub at 12 Park Street also traded as The Seanchaí and Cecil’s Bar.

The Bartender has been described as one of Dundalk’s most successful public houses with three bar areas, a beer garden and a conservatory.

It is the latest of a number of local pubs to come on the market recently, with the nearby Phoenix Bar also going on the market last month for a €450,000 asking price.
