Benny Grogan honoured with Volunteer Ireland Award for WATCH Cycling Club

There were celebrations for Philipstown man Benny Grogan on Friday night after he was presented with a Volunteer Ireland Award at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sligo.

Benny representing the WATCH Cycling Club picked up the overall award in the Sports and Recreation category.

Benny was joined by nine others from the county on the night.

He is well known for establishing the WATCH Cycling Club, a unique club that assists people who are visually impaired to cycle around the country by using tandem bikes.

This is the second honour for Benny in recent months after also picking up an award at the Louth PPN awards in Bellingham Castle in September.
