Blow for Louth as Maguire set to depart for USA
Louth have been dealt a huge blow ahead of next month’s Leinster Championship match with Wicklow in Parnell Park with the news that Derek Maguire is set to be unavailable for the game.
The Dundalk Young Irelands clubman, the county’s reigning Player of the Year, is set to spend the summer in the USA so will miss out on the game with the Garden County in Parnell Park on May 21st.
Maguire, a survivor from the last Louth side to reach a Leinster final in 2010, has been one of Colin Kelly’s key performers as they have won promotion from Division Four and Division Three in recent seasons following his conversion from a corner forward to wing back.
Should Louth beat Wicklow, they will face Meath in Parnell Park on June 4th.
