Two men have been arrested following the raiding of a cannabis grow house in Dundalk this afternoon.
The incident took place on the Castle Road.
While out on patrol on Operation Scale Gardaí from the Dundalk Detective Unit observed a car and individuals acting suspiciously at Castle Road.
They stopped and searched the car and subsequently obtained a warrant to search a premises on Castle Road.
During the course of the search Gardaí discovered a sophisticated cannabis cultivation grow house with approximately 200 plants in various stages of growth with an approximate street value of €160,000 (subject to analysis).
They also discovered cannabis herb with an approximate street value of €50,000 (subject to analysis).
Two men, both 33 years, were arrested and are currently being detained at Dundalk Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
