Charity weekend in memory of Ciaran Casey to take place this weekend
A charity weekend of sport in memory of the late Ciaran Casey has been organised for this coming weekend.
The event, organised by his former club Bellurgan United, will take place from Friday to Sunday.
The then 37-year-old married father of one, who worked as a bus driver for Bus Éireann, passed away suddenly in January 2015.
The charity weekend will give people a chance to reminisce about the many great memories that Ciaran left.
Proceedings will get underway on Friday May 25th with a sports-themed table quiz taking place in Ferguson’s Bar at Gyles Quay at 9pm. First prize is €500 with lots of spot prizes on the night. Entry for a team of five is €50.
The following day Saturday May 26th will be the Ciaran Casey football tournament. This gets underway at 2pm followed by presentation afterwards in The Lumper’s Bar in Ravensdale where food and music will be provided on the night after the Champions League final with a courtesy bus on hand to help everyone get home afterwards.
There will then be a football tournament for U8s and U9s on Sunday May 27th, starting at 10am.
All support for the events are most appreciated.
