The Craobh Rua Community Youth Project in Muirhevnamor has received a huge boost today with the news it is to receive funding of €50,000.
The funding was announced today as part of an allocation of 94 grants to 86 youth projects across the country.
The aim of the funding is to provide much needed assistance to youth projects for either the upgrade or replacement of equipment which is essential to the running of the project or organistaion or the funding of Health and Safety improvements to the premises which can include the purchase and installation of kitchen and toilet facilities to enable access to young people with disabilities.
According to local TD Peter Fitzpatrick, who welcomed the news, in the case of Craobh Rua the monies awarded will be used in the refurbishment of the youth facility.
