Doohan Financial Planning launch new business bursary for Dundalk secondary schools

Local business Doohan Financial Planning (DFP) have launched a new business bursary in collaboration with seven local secondary schools.

The pension and investment consultants, who are based at the Quayside Business Park, will provide one student from each of the participating schools with €1,000 towards the costs of going to college and studying business.

Each school will select a pupil who best fits the criteria for the business bursary and all successful recipients will receive their bursary at their school’s awards night.

The participating schools are Coláiste Rís, De La Salle College, Dundalk Grammar School, O Fiaich College, Dun Lughaigh, St Mary’s College and St Vincent’s.

Commenting at yesterday’s launch of the bursary, Eoin Doohan of DFP told LMFM’s Pat O’Shaughnessy why they had come up with the scheme.

“We felt it would be of benefit to help a child in relation to going to third level and we have decided upon giving a bursary on an annual basis to the seven secondary schools in Dundalk, which will total €1,000 per school. It will help somebody to help study business in third level,” said Doohan.
