Doyle thanks developer for repairs to footpath at Harbour Grove
Local councillor Maria Doyle has thanked the developers of a local housing estate after they carried out a series of repairs along a section of footpath that was prone to flooding on wet days.
The Fine Gael representative was contacted by residents of Harbour Grove on the Lower Point Road about water lying along a new stretch of footpath outside the estate.
She told Talk of the Town: “There was a significant amount of water pooling on wet days and it was presenting problems for pedestrians, especially on colder days when the water turned to ice.
“At first I contacted the Council who advised that they would not carry out repairs indicating it was an issue for the builder.
“I then contacted the developer of the new houses at Harbour Grove, Wonderglade Ltd, directly and alerted them to the problem. They have now carried out the repairs along this section of path and I would like to thank them for dealing with this problem after I raised it with them.”
