The Dundalk Cardiac First Responders’ group have made an appeal for volunteers to join the service.

The first responders provide vital back up for our emergency services and is staffed by trained volunteers who have become accustomed to dealing with call outs for cardia, stroke or choking incidents as they can often get there before the ambulance service.

At present there are eight people involvd but there is a need for more people to help out. No experience is necessary as full training in CPR, first aid and in the use of a defibrillator is provided by the Red Cross.

Anyone interested in getting involved should contact Michael Singleton on 085 7399754.
