Dundalk Cricket Club on the lookout for new players
Dundalk Cricket Club, established in the town back in 2009 following the Ireland national team’s exploits in the 2007 World Cup, is on the lookout for new players for 2017.
The competitive season starts on Sunday April 30th but outdoor training at the ground, based at the Dundalk & Dowdallshill Coursing Club grounds in Dromiskin, has begun already and two practice matches are being played this Saturday and the following Saturday April 22nd.
The first team of the club will play in Division 10 of the Leinster League this season. They have won their division in three of the six years they have played in the league.
There is also a second team that will play friendly matches throughout the season, so there will be games for all abilities.
The club would love to welcome any new players interested in joining the club, whether they have played before or haven’t.
Dundalk provide all the playing equipment so it does not need a huge investment to get started for newcomers.
Anyone interested in joining the team, or trying the game for the first time by coming along to some training sessions, can contact club secretary Derek Turner – firstname.lastname@example.org
