Dundalk FC’s Patrick McEleney nominated for PFAI Player of the Year award

Dundalk’s Patrick McEleney has been nominated for the Premier Division Player of the Year by the PFA Ireland.

The Derry man is up against Cork City’s Sean Maguire – now of Preston North End – and Derry City’s Aaron McEneff for the coveted prize, sponsored by EA Sports.

McEleney was also one of four Dundalk players named in the PFAI Premier Division Team of the Year, alongside Sean Gannon, Niclas Vemmelund and David McMillan.

The PFAI team of the year is: Gerard Doherty (Derry City); Sean Gannon (Dundalk), Niclas Vemmelund (Dundalk), Ryan Delaney (Cork City), Trevor Clarke (Shamrock Rovers); Aaron McEneff (Derry City), Patrick McEleney (Dundalk), Gearoid Morrissey (Cork City); David McMillan (Dundalk), Ronan Murray (Galway Utd), Sean Maguire (Cork City).

The awards will be held in the Marker Hotel in Dublin on Saturday November 18th. A full list of the nominees can be found here or viewed below.
