Dundalk fourth favourites for league title with bookmakers
Dundalk FC might have finished second in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division last season and strengthened their squad since then but the Lilywhites are just fourth favourites to clinch the league title in 2014, according to bookmakers Paddy Power.
Stephen Kenny’s side are 11/2 to clinch a 10th league win this year, leaving them behind holders St Patrick’s Athletic (7/4), cup kings Sligo Rovers (3/1) and the country’s most successful club, Shamrock Rovers (4/1) in the betting.
Meanwhile, neighbours Drogheda Utd – who Dundalk meet in the first game – are a massive 80/1 to win the league, putting them just ahead of relegation favourites UCD (250/1) and Bray Wanderers (400/1).
