Dundalk as it Happens
Dundalk IT to host CAO Information Session this Saturday
Students interested in studying at Dundalk Institute of Technology are invited to a CAO Information Session this Saturday.
School-leavers from north or south of the border, QQI applicants, mature students, parents and guardians are invited to attend the event, which runs from 10am to 1pm in the Muirheavna Building on the DkIT campus.
The event is aimed at helping applicants with questions about the CAO application process and course choices. Welcome talks will commence at 10am, 11am and 12 noon and will include representatives from Admissions, Careers, Access Office, Disability Office, Sport and Student Support Services. Visitors will also have an opportunity to meet one-to-one with students and lecturers from across the four academic Schools of Business & Humanities, Engineering, Health & Science and Informatics & Creative Arts.
Diarmuid Cahill, School Liaison Officer at DkIT, said: “This event is the perfect opportunity for students and their parents to get the information they need to complete their CAO Application form including information on our 45 undergraduate courses. With the CAO Deadline, 1st February fast approaching, some students will already have decided on what course they wish to pursue at college while other students may still be trying to make up their mind or might be looking for advice on their second, third or fourth CAO choices. This event will give them an opportunity to speak to our staff and students to make informed course choices on their CAO.”
Mature applicants and students with disabilities are encouraged to attend the information session and relevant staff and students will be available to meet to discuss any queries about applying to study at DkIT.
Students applying to DkIT this year have more choice with the introduction of 5 new courses as part of its undergraduate offering. These include BSc (Hons) in Engineering (Common Entry), BSc. (Hons) in Construction Management, BSc. (Hons) in Architectural Technology, Higher Certificate in Arts in Front Office Management and Business Administration Higher Certificate in Computing and Business.
