Dundalk remind supporters of No Flares Campaign ahead of start of new season
Last year the club received a number of fines, totaling over €3,000, after flares were let off at both home and away matches.
In a statement, the club says it wants to make clear to all supporters that flares, smoke bombs, canisters, fireworks and any other similar objects are banned from all club matches.
They have warned that these items not only risk injury but could also lead to serious consequences for Dundalk FC including the prospect of playing matches behind closed doors.
The club insist that any fan found with such itmes will be banned from Oriel Park, with actions also taken to ensure they do not gain access to the club’s away fixtures.
They have also vowed to pursue the culprits for all costs associated with future fines.
Dundalk travel to United Park tonight for their league opener with neighbours Drogheda. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
