Dundalk Stadium expansion given the go ahead

An expansion to Dundalk Stadium has been given the go ahead.

The racecourse operators Dundalk Racing (1999) Ltd have been granted conditional planning permission by Louth County Council to build an enclosed conference room facility at the Racecourse Road venue.

They have also been given the go ahead to install a bookies enclosure with a terrace above at the track.

The dual horse and greyhound racing venue will celebrate its 10th anniversary later this month having officially opened on August 26th 2007 following a €35 million investment.

One of the biggest events in its calendar takes place this Friday with the Bar One Racing Sprint Cup final.
