Dundalk to face Rosenborg in Champions League
Dundalk have been paired with Rosenborg in the second qualifying round of this season’s Champions League.
The Norwegian champions were one of six possible opponents for Stephen Kenny’s side along with Celtic, Legia Warsaw, Maribor, Malmo and FH Hafnarfjordur.
This will be the first ever meeting between the sides.
Full fixture details have yet to be confirmed for the tie with the first leg to take place on July 11th/12th and the return leg on July 18th/19th. Dates and venues for both games will be announced later today although it is expected that Dundalk will be at home for the first leg.
Dundalk will be hoping to progress through the competition like last year when they beat FH Hafnarfjordur and BATE Borisov before just missing out on the Champions League group stages when going down 3-1 on aggregate to Legia Warsaw.
