Dundalk Youth Centre is set to benefit from €20,150 in funding.

News of the funds were announced yesterday by Minister for Childen and Youth Affairs Dr Katherine Zappone as part of the Youth Employability Initiative.

In total youth groups around the country will benefit from €600,000, funded under the Dormant Accounts Fund. The money is aimed at providing grants to voluntary youth services for programmes that target disadvantaged young people to improve their employability

Dundalk Youth Centre, based at Roden Place, is to receive €20,150.

This funding will be used towards a programme which will work with 20 young people involved in Dundalk Youth Centre to participate in the Gaisce award.

Young people will participate as part of a group to complete the skills, physical recreation, community involvement and adventure journey required to achieve the award.
