A two storey extension has been planned for Gaelscoil Dhun Dealgan in Muirhevnamor.
In recent days the school’s Board of Management have submitted a planning application to Louth County Council to expand the school.
Their proposal consists of the removal of an existing pre-fabricated classroom and the construction of a stand alone two-storey building at the rear of the existing school.
It will comprise three classrooms with toilet facilities, an office, a staff room, staff toilet facilities, a caretaker’s store and an external play area with enclosing walls to include new footpaths, fencing, guarding, alterations to existing paving and all associated site works.
A decision on the matter is due by August 31st.
