Gardaí appeal for information on thefts from two Carrick Road stores at the weekend

Gardaí in Dundalk are appealing for information on two separate thefts from shops on the Carrick Road at the weekend.

The first occurred at 8.30pm on Saturday night.

A male entered the store with a knife and threatened staff before taking money from the till.

He was described as being 5ft 10in in height, of slim build and wore a grey sweatshirt with black track suit bottoms, blue runners and had brown tights over his face. He may also have had orange paint on his bottoms.

Then on Sunday another shop on the Carrick Road was targeted.

At 2pm a man entered the store with a knife and shouted at staff to open the till and give him its contents. He was described as being 5ft 9in in height and wore a dark hoodie and had black tights covering his face.

It is believed he may have left the scene in a Dublin registered Volkswagen Passat.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of either incident and who may have witnessed anything suspicious is asked to contact Dundalk Garda Station on 042 9335577.
