Inspirational night at Cara Cancer Support Centre

Wednesday night saw two figures from the health and wellness industry visit the Cara Cancer Support Centre in Williamson’s Place for what can only be described as an inspirational evening.

The event was kicked off by Jason Hughes, former Monaghan county footballer, who spoke eloquently about how he overcame testicular cancer when diagnosed at the young age of 22.

Also on the night local nutritionist Dara Morgan advised the audience on the importance of a healthy diet at every stage of the illness.

Hughes, who is actively involved in Castleblayney’s ‘Operation TransFAUGHmation’, spoke about the importance of keeping fit and leading an active life which helped him successfully beat the illness. This complimented Dara’s advice on combining a well balanced diet with regular exercise.

Attendees on the night left feeling inspired after truly positive words by both speakers.
