Irene White murder accused sent forward for trial to Central Criminal Court
A local father of four charged with the murder of Irene White in her home in Dundalk in April 2005 has been sent forward for trial to the Central Criminal Court.
Niall Power (45) of Gyles Quay, Riverstown, Dundalk, Co Louth appeared before Cloverhill District Court yesterday where a book of evidence was served on him.
No date has as yet been set for the trial.
Mr Power has been released on bail having surrendered his passport.
Mr Power was charged in relation to the killing in Dundalk in early February after presenting himself to Gardaí in the wake of the conviction of Anthony Lambe from Annadrumman, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan who received a life sentence in January after admitting to stabbing Ms White 34 times.
The then 43-year-old mother of three was killed in the kitchen of her home at Ice House on the Demesne Road on April 6th 2005, shortly after dropping her kids off to school.
