Just 81 properties in Louth qualify for government’s new first-time buyers’ scheme
Just 81 properties in Louth qualify for the government’s new first-time buyers’ scheme.
That’s according to a new survey from Daft.ie which found that just over 2,000 properties were available under the scheme nationwide.
The Louth figure represents just 3% of all available properties matching the criteria on the property website.
The scheme, which was introduced in this year’s budget, intends to provide a rebate of income tax over the four previous tax years.
The rebate would be maximum of 5% of the purchase price of a new house up to a value of €400,000.
Just 81 houses currently meet this criteria in Louth, including new developments such as Mount Hamilton, Cnoc na Mara, Carlinn Hall and Marlmount.
