Kilduff grabs four as Dundalk cruise into semi-finals of Leinster Senior Cup
Dundalk booked their place in the semi-finals of the Leinster Senior Cup with a comfortable 6-0 victory over Kilkenny side Thomastown Utd in Oriel Park last night.
Ciaran Kilduff scored four on the night with Shane Grimes and Thomas Stewart also on the scoresheet.
The first arrived on 11 minutes when Kilduff opened the scoring from Keith Dalton’s cross.
Grimes then doubled the lead soon after by beating three players to fire to the net.
It was 3-0 on 24 minutes when Kilduff bundled home at the second attempt after initially being denied in a follow-up from Stewart’s effort that was saved by goalkeeper Paul Dunne.
Stewart did get in on the scoring act himself soon after linking up with Carlton Ubaezuono to find the net.
Kilduff then completed his hat-trick in the 70th minute when he was picked out by Sean Gannon to fire home.
He would then add a sixth late on when he capitalised on Dunne missing a cross to add his fourth of the game.
Afterwards Stephen Kenny and Shane Grimes gave their reaction to the win to Dundalk FC TV, which you can watch below…
