Turlough King (10) won Sunday’s Singles Stableford on countback from Neil Mulloly (7) after both finished on 40pts.

King produced a round that included one birdie and 10 pars as he went out in 20pts and came home with another 20pts down the back nine.

He had an excellent start with three point pars at the first and third and collected another at the par-five seventh. His birdie came at the par-five 10th and he also had three point pars at the 11th and 15th.

Mulloly, who also had the best gross score of the day with 33pts, took Category 1 while Edmund Sheridan (13) won Category 2 and Cathal Purcell (15) claimed the Juvenile Prize.

The Category 3 prize went to the in-form Noel Crowe who has adjusted well to his handicap reduction since finishing second in last month’s Captain’s Prize. Crowe, who is now off 22 after losing four shots, also won the Cateogry 3 prize in Wednesday’s Open Singles Stableford competition.

Wednesday’s competition was won by Jamie McCaul (25) with 41pts. He was one point better that Alan Uzell (19) with Old Conna’s David Downey (12) and Joe Garvey (18) taking categories one and two while Alex Haneffy (4) recorded the best gross.

The Dundalk Scratch Cup, sponsored by One Finance, takes place this Sunday and all members are welcome to come out and watch some of the country’s top amateur players compete in this prestigious and long-standing competition.

Congratulations are extended to Caolan Rafferty who won both the individual and team titles at the Copa Fedegolf in Columbia last week.
