Live Register figures in Dundalk fall 1.8% in February
Live Register figures for Dundalk fell to their lowest level in more than seven years last month.
The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), show there were 5,396 people signing on in the town in February, down 1.8% on the 5,493 who were claiming dole payments in January.
This was the lowest level since January 2009 when there were 5,159 people on the Live Register in Dundalk. Year-on-year the figure had also fallen by 9.9%.
On a county level there were 12,743 signing on last month – down 1.2% on the 12,902 signing on the previous month. Year-on-year those on the Live Register in Louth fell 9.8% from the 14,134 who were signed on in February 2015.
Figures also fell slightly in Ardee – down 0.9% to 1,575 – and in Drogheda, which was down 0.8% to 5,772.
