Local pharmacists graduate with diploma

A number of local pharmacists were amongst those to graduate with an Edexcel Pharmacy Services Diploma (QCF) at a graduation ceremony in the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham on Monday.

Pictured above are Emma Halpenny of Bradley’s Pharmacy in Carlingford, Christina Shields of Hickey’s Pharmacy in Navan, Sylvia Smyth of Donal McGoey Pharmacy in Ardee, Kelly Cassidy of Hickey’s Pharmacy in Dundalk and Louise Mernagh of McQuillan’s Pharmacy in Dundalk with Joe Ausena of Edexcel and Daragh Connolly, President of the Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU).

The comprehensive two-year course, which is delivered and administered by the Irish Pharmacy Union, prepares pharmacy technicians to assist pharmacists in ensuring the delivery of a high quality pharmacy service efficiently and safely to patients.
