Local photographer plans to stream St Patrick’s Day Parade from Blackrock via Facebook Live
People from Blackrock unable to make it home for St Patrick’s Day next week will hopefully be able to watch the village parade via Facebook.
That’s because local photographer Niall Carroll plans to film proceedings via a drone and transmit it via Facebook Live.
Niall did a test broadcast yesterday and told Talk of the Town that it “went down very well with people commenting from all around the world.”
He added: “It is a really unique idea and people loved it.”
Now he is hoping to open up the Blackrock St Patrick’s Day parade to a wider audience by doing a follow up next Friday.
“I plan to do it next week again at the St Patricks day parade in Blackrock, weather permitting. It will be a great way to show people who live around the world to be able to watch the parade live from anywhere in the world and see how big the parade is getting and how popular it is,” he said.
