McCourt rules out move to Dundalk
Former Celtic star Paddy McCourt has ruled out a move to Dundalk FC.
The 33-year-old former Northern Ireland international has been training with Stephen Kenny’s side in recent weeks after departing Glenavon in December.
However, he told The Star today that he was only training with the SSE Airtricity League champions as a favour rather than with a view to signing.
McCourt told The Star: “I know the papers, they thought I was going to be signing there.
“But I think in my preferred position they are well covered. In fairness to Stephen, he made that clear pretty quickly.”
He added: “I’m hoping to find a club and get back playing full-time in the League of Ireland, or as close to full-time as I can.”
